    Valkyrie Tour

    #3016 $3,500.00

Hand built by Waterford Precision Bicycles with premier Waterford OS2 steel tubing and steel fork with true touring geometry. Enjoy a comfortable, responsive ride on this USA-made frame equipped with the Shimano Deore group.

Yes, Valkyrie Tour has fender clearance. It also has rear rack mounts, alpine gearing and all the comfort of steel for long, loaded days on the road. Front rack mounts for the Tubus Tara rack are optional. The head tube extends 20 mm above the top tube and the bike is shipped with 70 mm of headset spacers. You'll never say "Can I raise the handlebars more?". Ah, the joy of steel -- this is something you can't do with aluminum or carbon fiber fork steerer tubes.

It's made with Waterford's custom blend of heat treated True Temper OX Platinum. The new generation of alloys is a real materials revolution in and of itself. By combining the benefits of heat treating and the ability to provide a durable TIG-weld, we can offer really light bikes with flexible geometries that can take loads of punishment.

In order to achieve flawless shifting, Valkyrie Tour uses Shimano bar end shift levers, the standard with serious touring cyclists. You can keep both hands on the bars while shifting and if the rear shift lever ever loses its indexing ability, simply turn a screw and the lever will revert to friction mode.
