The Wild Goose Chase

The 2009 Wild Goose Chase, sponsored by Terry Precision Cycling and GORE BIKE WEAR™, was held on Sunday, May 3.

The 2010 ride will be open for registration in late summer 2009. Although the date won't be firm until July, we're shooting for Sunday, May 2, 2010. Invitations will be sent first to participants in the 2009 ride and then opened to the public. If you'd like your name to be put on a mailing list, please email talktous@terrybicycles.com.

This one day bicycle tour for women takes place in and around Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, in Cambridge, Maryland on the Eastern Shore. It's a spectacular way to enjoy early-season cycling while contributing to a great cause. In 2009, we raised $24,500 for the Refuge.

Join us in May 2010 for a day of riding, eating, shopping and meeting new friends. The terrain is dead flat, the scenery is spectacular and the roads are quiet. It's perfect for everyone from beginners just getting into the sport to seasoned pros who want some early season miles to stretch their legs. Come the day before and enjoy kayaking and self-guided bike tours of the area.

Blackwater Refuge was originally established in 1933 as a haven for ducks and geese migrating along the Atlantic Flyway. The Refuge is a popular place during the November migration when upwards of 35,000 geese and 15,000 ducks visit Blackwater. Blackwater is also a haven for several troubled species including the American bald eagle, the endangered Delmarva fox squirrel, and the migrant peregrine falcon. The Refuge is host to the largest breeding population of bald eagles on the East Coast, north of Florida. Learn more about Blackwater and the Friends of Blackwater.
