Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
What were you thankful for on Thanksgiving? Family, friends, food? I'm thankful for my bicycle. It has to be the single greatest revelation of my life and always a source of pleasure and fulfillment. Never mind that Thanksgiving was a typical upstate New York day (George Eliot would have felt right at home here) -- gray, gloomy, temps hovering around freezing and patches of crusty snow clumped on lawns. The roads were clear and quiet, so Moo and I set out to celebrate the occasion.

I read a comment Graeme Street made when his father asked him why he was biking up Mt. Washington. Graeme hesitated and then said, "Because I can." I understood perfectly. What a precious gift it is, to be able to ride a bicycle and to be instantly whisked away to another world. It's something I would never deny myself.
Here's hoping you could give thanks for something just as precious.
Tailwinds,
Georgena

A note about the Moo shown here: It's really a Mt. Marcy, our original mountain bike, first produced in the late 1980's. Our painter, Brian Moredock, had the idea that a bike painted like a cow would be really cool. That's how this Mt. Marcy became a Moo and how the cow paint job evolved and went into production a few years later. It's as much fun to ride as it is to look at!
